Medical Coverage
Employees can select a NesCARE medical plan or an HMO (depending on location of residence) that best meets the needs of themselves and their families. Coverage becomes effective after 31 days of full-time employment.
Dental Coverage
Nestlé offers a choice of two dental coverage options: A Preferred Dental Plan and a DMO Plan. Both plans cover typical dental services so that employees and their families can better manage dental costs.
Vision Coverage
There are two vision coverage options to choose from. The benefits of both plans are similar, so employees decide which plan to enroll in based on provider network participation.
Prescription Drug Plans
A prescription drug program is included when employees enroll in a NesCARE medical plan option. The prescription drug benefits offer the flexibility to purchase medications either at a local retail pharmacy or through mail-order service.
Wellness and Alternative Medicine
Under the NesCARE medical plans, annual preventive health care will be paid at 100% up to $500. Examples of eligible costs include physicals and mammograms. In addition, additional alternative medicine treatments available through the NesCARE medical plans include acupuncture, naturopathy, hypnosis, homeopathy, herbal medicines and medical nutritional therapy.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Dependent Daycare and Health Care Flexible Spending Accounts are available to set aside pre-tax income for reimbursement of applicable daycare and health care expenses not otherwise covered by insurance. Up to $5,000 can be set aside to each account annually.
Long-Term Care
This optional employee paid benefit insures employees and eligible family members against the potential cost of a nursing home or other long-term care. Parents, grandparents and in-laws can be included under a separate policy.
Life Insurance
Nestlé provides life insurance at no cost to full-time employees equal to 1 1/2 times their annual base salary. Employees can further increase this benefit by electing coverage up to five times their annual pay. The employee cost for these other optional levels of coverage are based on age and annual base pay. Evidence of insurability is required for certain coverage levels.
Dependent Life Insurance
This optional employee paid coverage provides a death benefit in the event a covered family member dies. The cost depends on the coverage level elected. Evidence of insurability is required for certain coverage levels.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance
This optional employee paid benefit provides benefits in the event of injury or death as the result of accidental injury. Coverage is available for the employee a well as eligible family members. The cost depends on the coverage level elected.
Short-Term Disability
Disability benefits are provided in the event of a non work-related disabling illness or injury.
Long-Term Disability
This optional employee paid benefit is available to full time employees and provides income protection after 180 days or 6 months of approved disability.

Holidays
Nestlé provides a minimum of 10 regular paid holidays each year (dates vary by location).

Under certain circumstances, employees can take an extended leave from work to pursue educational, political, community or personal interests.
Parental Leave
Birth/adoptive fathers and mothers can take one week of paid leave within six months of a birth or adoption.

FlexTime allows eligible employees to vary their work schedules around standards set by management. In addition, Telecommuting enables eligible employees to work from a different location, perhaps home or another facility.

Educational Assistance
Reimbursement is available for tuition, books and other required fees for approved courses up to a maximum allowance.
Scholarship Program
Nestlé supports a Scholarship Foundation that helps employees' children with undergraduate tuition costs.

Nestlé provides access to a Web-based service that offers discounts on a broad range of products including theater and entertainment, travel and lodging, electronics, gifts, financial services, clothing and more.
Voluntary Benefits
Nestlé provides access to a Web-based service that offers consumer advice, comparative pricing and great rates on a variety of products and services, including home and auto financing, legal services, long-term care coverage, optional life insurance and pet insurance.
Resource and Referral Services
Nestlé offers LifeCare counseling, education and referral services on adoption, childcare and elder care, prenatal care, parenting, educational opportunities and other personal services.
Employee Assistance Program
This free and confidential service is designed for employees and their family members who seek professional counseling on a variety of personal or family problems.
Infant Formula Program
Employees with dependent children under 12 months of age are eligible for twelve coupons ($35 each) for Carnation Infant Formula.
Adoption Assistance Program
Nestlé provides a maximum benefit of $5,000 to cover itemized expenses related to the adoption of a child.
